Bust out your pants with the stretchy waistband because August 9-12 marks the annual Taste of Calgary being held at Eau Claire from 11AM to 9PM. What is Taste of Calgary? It is an opportunity for you to enjoy cuisine from the most unique food and drink companies in Calgary! You can buy 75 cent tickets that allow you to enjoy sample sized portions. You also get to enjoy some live entertainment along with your delicious dining. There is no cost to get into the event.

The menu ranges from Asian Cuisine to Italian, BBQ to Greek. Some of the foods offered last year (and are probably going to be seen this year as well) are:

-          Donair (from Alaturka)

-          Shrimp Rolls (from Pho Thuy Tien)

-          Butter Chicken (from Bombay House Catering)

-          Jamaican Patties (from Caribbean Choice)

-          Ice Cream (from China Rose)

-          Chicken Samosas (from Delice Pastry and Soup Café)

-          Burritos (from El Toro Catering)

-          Fajitas (from Jack Astor’s)

-          Spring Rolls (from Quynh Vietnamese Cuisine)

-          Dumplings (from Tai Pan Restaurant)

Is your mouth watering yet?

Many more establishments were featured along with the ones listed above, and the event is only growing in size. In addition to the food, twenty four different establishments offering both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks were also present. Last year, over 53,000 people were in attendance. You will see families and singles on the weekend as well as professionals visiting on their lunch hour or after work. So this is a great place to meet people and network. If you are new to the city, it is also a great chance to get to know what Calgary is all about!

Make sure to get down to Eau Claire to get YOUR taste of Calgary.
